OutspokinHave you ever wanted to take a ride on the wild side? Wanted to learn some mountain biking skills? It's time for you to try something new and exciting by bike riding in Harbison State Forest. Come join us for an adventurous mountain bike ride. It doesn't matter if you haven't ridden previously as there will be demonstrations and safety instructions by Outspokin's very own professional cyclists and also by Friends of Harbison State Forest.

Gear Show
backpackerWhen the leaves begin to change, it's the perfect time to get outside. The Backpacker Quality Gear, Inc. will be hosting a gear show as part of the festival. Included in the show will be demonstrations of the latest trends and technology for today's outdoor enthusiast. Come check it out to learn what equipment and/or attire you'll need for the upcoming hiking and biking season.

Farmer's Market
Farmers MarketStock up on home grown fruits and vegetables at the Farmers' Market held in conjunction with the Gear Show. In addition, Palmetto Conservation Foundation, which houses a publishing facility, will be offering many of its books and souvenir items for sale during the hours of the Market.

Columbia's All-Local Farmers' Market is held the 2nd Saturday of every month in the Vista and the 4th Saturday of every month in the parking lot of Rosewood Market (2903 Rosewood Drive). Since November 2005, the All-Local Farmers' Market has grown from a small handful of South Carolina farmers and producers to over a dozen vendors, showcasing South Carolina's finest foods and crafts. The Market features all-natural or organic produce, beef, eggs, chicken, lamb, pork, grains, honey, flowers and milk from South Carolina farmers. The Market also boasts vendors with baked goods, award winning hot sauces, goat milk soaps and lotions, handmade items and more.

Time 12pm- Boating Information Session

     ~Learn how to buy and transport a boat

2-4 pm- Trip down the Columbia Canal

     ~Includes transportation, basic instruction,

        all paddling equipment, and guide!

     ~Come dressed for paddling with shoes that can  

        get wet!

 

 

Where 12 pm Info Session- Amphitheatre on Meeting St next to Gervais Street Bridge

2pm Trip Down Canal- Meet in the parking lot of the State Museum, transportation will be provided to drop spot on canal.

Cost Info Session- Free

Trip on Canal- $20  (Must register in advance)
